A premium customer experience built around focused training, professional service, and the credibility that comes from people who've actually carried for a living. Family-owned, woman-owned, and veteran-owned — staffed by active-duty and veteran military shooters who train in the islands.
A purpose-built indoor range with 9 lanes, 83 feet (25 meters) of distance, and the largest footprint of any indoor shooting facility in the Pacific. Outfitted with Action Target equipment and a state-of-the-art HEPA ventilation system — engineered for serious shooters, not improvised from a steel box.
X-Ring is the only public range on Oʻahu where members can practice rapid fire and live-fire holster draws — disciplines critical to real defensive shooting but tightly controlled at most facilities. Each is subject to a one-time annual qualification with our staff. Pass once, train all year.
X-Ring issues the vast majority of Hawaiʻi Basic Handgun Safety certifications and Concealed Carry affidavits on Oʻahu. We work directly with the Honolulu Police Department Firearms Records Division so our curriculum stays aligned with state law every time it changes — what we certify today is what HPD accepts tomorrow.
The certification HPD requires before you can acquire a handgun in Hawaiʻi — taught by instructors who teach it every week and know exactly what HPD expects.
Complete CCW qualification for Hawaiʻi Concealed Carry Weapon licensing — classroom instruction, live-fire qualification, and notarization handled by our on-site notary, all under one roof.
State-aligned curriculum in our briefing room — Hawaiʻi CCW law, conflict avoidance, and lawful use-of-force decision making.
Pass the full Hawaiʻi CCW course of fire on our private lanes. Same building. Same instructors. Ammo and target included.
Our on-site notary issues your affidavit directly — within 72 hours of course completion. No second drive across the island, no third-party scheduling.
Most Hawaiʻi CCW courses send you elsewhere to get the affidavit notarized. Different building, different appointment, different day. Ours is one room away from the lanes you just qualified on.
HPD's CCW course of fire requires live-fire qualification at distances up to 45 feet. Outside of Koko Head Crater — the city-run outdoor range, weather-dependent and frequently queue-heavy — X-Ring is the only indoor facility on this island with the lane distance to host a compliant CCW qualification.
Doing this right is expensive. A purpose-built 25-meter indoor range, HPD-verified instructors current on every law update, carrier-grade liability and operational coverage, and proper facility specification aren't shortcuts you can fake by running a course out of a smaller indoor space that doesn't meet the legal distance floor. The shortcut version is cheaper to operate. It also can't issue a CCW affidavit that survives a serious HPD review.
We chose to invest in compliance over cost-cutting. If you're going to walk away with a CCW qualification, the safest place to earn it is the one that didn't cut a corner getting there.
Most Oʻahu shooters split certification between a weekend classroom and a Saturday morning at Koko Head Crater — fighting traffic, lines, and weather just to qualify. At X-Ring, classroom instruction and live-fire qualification happen in the same building, in a purpose-built indoor range that meets every State CCW Course Requirement on the books. No splitting your training. No risk that your certification gets rejected because the facility didn't meet code.
Both our Hawaiʻi Basic Handgun Safety and CCW Qualification courses include classroom segments built around the MILO Range simulator — the same scenario-based judgment training system used by police academies, military units, and federal agencies worldwide. Branching HD scenarios put you in real-world encounters: domestic disputes, low-light situations, ambiguous threats. Every choice changes the outcome.
Marksmanship is essential. But the harder part of carrying a firearm — knowing when not to draw, how to de-escalate, where to position yourself — is judgment. MILO gives you a place to build judgment under pressure that doesn't require live-fire and doesn't punish your decisions in the real world. Our students step from the simulator to the lanes already trained on the choices that matter most.
Domestic, residential, low-light, traffic stops, off-duty encounters — the same scenarios used to train federal officers.
Scenarios respond to your choices in real time. Words, position, and force decisions all change what happens next.
Every session records audio, video, and your shots. We review it together — what you saw, what you said, what you did.
Drills run in full daylight, low-light, and full-dark with handheld flashlight — building skills before you ever load a magazine.
Beyond formal certification, X-Ring runs a full calendar of skill-builder events and live-fire programming for members. Sharpen what you've already learned, train scenarios you can't practice on a public lane, and — starting Fall 2026 — compete on stage.
Structured weekly drills focused on grip, trigger control, sight tracking, and transitions. Progressive scoring against a timer to measure your improvement week over week.
Movement-based drills with multi-target engagements, transitions, and decision points under timed pressure. Test fundamentals when the lane stops being static.
Train flashlight techniques, weapon-mounted light deployment, and target ID in reduced visibility — a critical real-world skill rarely available on public ranges.

X-Ring is a members-only facility. Start with a one-time lifetime membership to shop and shoot. Range subscriptions below are optional add-ons for frequent shooters.
For members using on-site ammunition purchase policies.
For members who want flexibility to use Outside Ammunition.
Range life, new arrivals, member spotlights, and event coverage — updated weekly. Follow along for first looks at incoming firearms, knives, and class openings.
E komo mai — moments from H1, H2, and H3, with easy access from anywhere on the island.
Most first-timers ask the same eight questions before walking in. Here are the answers — so you can spend your visit shooting, not on the phone. Counter staff are always the source of truth: 808.676.7464.
Yes — we welcome the general public, tourists, first-time shooters, and members. X-Ring is a members-only facility, but membership is a one-time $50 lifetime sign-up at the counter — paid once, valid for life, no renewals or annual fees. You complete it on your first visit alongside a normal range waiver. No Hawaiʻi residency required.
After that, you're cleared to shop and shoot anytime we're open. Daily lane rates apply ($25 per lane; $15 with kamaʻāina ID Tuesday–Friday 10am–2pm).
No — walk-in only. Show up during open hours (Tue–Fri 10–6, Sat–Sun 8–8) and we'll get you on a lane. We don't currently take advance bookings, so you don't need to call ahead, fill out a form, or hold a slot.
Classes do require enrollment — see SECTION_02 for upcoming Hawaiʻi Basic Handgun Safety and CCW dates and seat availability.
A government-issued photo ID — Hawaiʻi driver's license, state ID, or US passport. If you'd like the kamaʻāina rate, bring your local ID.
Eye and ear protection are available at the counter if you don't already own a set. If you're bringing your own firearm, see Question 04. Closed-toe shoes are required (sneakers, boots, or work shoes are fine).
Yes. Arrive with it unloaded and in a case — magazine and chamber empty, ammunition stored separately. Our staff will visually inspect it before you take it onto the range; takes about a minute.
We'll also confirm your ammunition is range-legal: no steel-core, no tracers, no armor-piercing, no incendiary rounds. Hawaiʻi law also caps pistol magazine capacity at 10 rounds (HRS §134) — magazines over 10 are a felony in the state.
Absolutely. First-timers are welcome any day we're open. If you'd like to rent a firearm and have never fired one before, you'll take a short Firearm Rental Familiarization Course with one of our range officers — about 15–20 minutes covering safe handling, the firearm you've selected, and range procedure.
If you'd prefer one-on-one coaching beyond the basic familiarization, ask the counter about private instruction sessions. Many first-timers spend their first session deciding what feels right before considering a purchase.
Closed-toe shoes are required on the range — sneakers, boots, or work shoes are all fine. Sandals, slippers, and open-toe shoes are not allowed.
We also recommend a high-collared shirt and tying long hair back — hot brass has a habit of finding collars and ponytails. A baseball cap with a brim is a small comfort that adds up over a long session. Avoid baggy clothing and anything with offensive imagery.
The range is open to anyone 18 or older with a valid photo ID. Minors as young as 13 may shoot when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must remain with them on the range at all times.
To rent or possess a handgun on-site, you must be 21 or older — federal law. Shooters 18–20 may rent and use long guns (rifles, shotguns).
No. The Hawaiʻi Basic Handgun Safety certificate is required before you acquire a handgun in Hawaiʻi — it's a permitting requirement for purchase, not for range access.
Tourists, first-time shooters, and visitors without the certificate are welcome to rent and shoot anytime. If you'd like to take the BHS course while you're here, see SECTION_02 for upcoming class dates and seat availability.
Please review our safety procedures before arriving. This video explains expectations on the range.
We're easy to connect with. Calling is the fastest way to confirm availability and enroll.
